04 — Who We Are

Two decades of
international expertise.

Sara P Mintz
Founding Partner

Based outside Boston, MA. Sara began her art career as director of a Chelsea, NYC gallery before spending a decade in corporate art consulting — building collections and managing commission projects for Fortune 500 companies. She then spent six years in non-profit public art before co-founding Conflux.

Nick Platzer
Founding Partner

Based in Miami, FL. Nick founded and ran INOPERAbLE, the leading Urban Art Gallery in Austria, from 2006–2016. After returning to the US, he curated and installed large-scale murals around the world before joining a Providence non-profit public arts organization — where he and Sara met.

"Conflux is the icing on the cake! They take the time to truly understand my business and my goals for each project. Large

Budgets are agreed to and documented during contracting. Scale and design complexity are the primary contributing factors to budget. All budgets are comprehensive and include all pre-production work, materials, equipment and production.

How long does a project take? +
On-site production typically takes 5–21 days depending on scale and complexity. The planning process can range from 6–24 months to allow for artist selection, contracting, design revisions, and client feedback. We recommend starting conversations early.
How long does a mural last? +
A properly installed mural looks its best for 5–10 years depending on site and building conditions. We use industry-best products to ensure the longest possible lifespan for every installation.
When are outdoor murals painted? +
For the integrity and longevity of the paint, outdoor installations require temperatures consistently above 40°F — typically May through September in all-season climates. Indoor murals can be installed year-round.
Do you work in media other than murals? +
Yes — our team has the expertise to help you commission or procure artwork in any medium, from interior and exterior sculpture to painting, works on paper, and photography.
What if I need to remove the mural later? +
Conflux includes a V.A.R.A and Moral Rights waiver in all artist contracts, which is provided to the client. This means you can alter, remove, or repair the mural at any time without legal complications.
Why hire Conflux instead of the artist directly? +
Conflux maintains an extensive network of in-demand artists and can determine whose talent and style is best suited to your goals. We handle contracts, insurance, supplies, and all other deliverables — ensuring your project is delivered on time and on budget without adding to your workload.
Are you insured and certified? +
Yes. Conflux maintains industry-standard General Liability, Auto, and Waiver of Subrogation insurance. We are MEWP and OSHA 10 certified, and we ensure all hired artists carry the necessary project coverage.
Can I speak with a former client? +
Absolutely. Reach out and let us know what kind of project you're interested in and we'll connect you with an appropriate reference from our client list.
Where is your company based and where do you work? +
After growing up in Providence and Vienna, Nick now resides in Miami, FL. Sara grew up in the Boston suburbs, where she now lives again after starting her career for a decade in NYC. Our company can work nationally, in the EU, and beyond.
